In April, the party will be holding a federal policy convention in Edmonton, and we'll have the opportunity to send six delegates there to vote on behalf of Etobicoke-Lakeshore. In addition, we'll be able to present policy resolutions of our own that every delegate at the convention can vote on. Successful resolutions will become official NDP policy and inform party leadership as we chart a course forward.
That's where you come in.
On Tuesday, January 26th, we're hosting a general meeting of the Etobicoke-Lakeshore NDP membership. If you're a member in good standing of the party, you're welcome to come to the meeting and vote for (or even run as) delegates to the convention. We will also be voting on policy resolutions submitted by our members; any resolutions which are passed here will be forwarded to the central party for voting by the convention delegates in April.
We are proud to represent a progressive voice not only in Canada at large but within the NDP, and we are looking forward to bringing several resolutions forward for your vote. And we'd love to hear, and vote on, your resolutions as well. Please join us and help move the party forward in 2016 and beyond!
